About the name Júlio
Wiktionary gives Júlio as a learned borrowing from Latin Iūlius, which has the word julho ('July') as a divergent form. Iulius was a Roman family name: according to Behind the Name, possibly derived from Greek ἴουλος (íoulos), 'downy-bearded', or else linked to the god Jupiter, and Wiktionary's Latin entry gives the same two hypotheses, the second as a contraction of *Iovilios, 'descendant of Jove'. Because the origin of the base name is uncertain, the meaning of Júlio is also uncertain. In the 2022 Census, IBGE recorded 327,493 people named Júlio, with a median age of 36.
